Guide to the Virtual Trainer "Lisa"
How to use the Virtual Trainer Lisa
Lisa is an AI-tool trained to aid you during your learning process. It has general knowledge like any AI-tool, but also contains all the information of your course material. Therefore you can ask it about certain chapters or topics from your course. When starting with the Virtual Trainer Lisa, she will ask you questions about your working situation and goals/reasons to follow this course. You are not obliged to give this information but remember; the more information you give the better it can cater it’s answers to your situation.
Try it out yourself!

What questions to ask?
The Virtual Trainer has extensive knowledge about your course and its material. You can use it at any point in your learning process to, for example, acquire additional information about certain topics, to clear any uncertainties you may have, to test your knowledge, or to confirm whether you understood the material properly.
Some good questions to ask include:
- More information about x
To understand a subject better you can ask for more information about it. (e.g., Can you tell me more about white hat hackers?). - Differences between x & x
When in confused about the difference of certain terms, you may ask for the difference between them. (e.g., could you tell me the difference between Classical Learning and Machine Learning?) - Language and definitions
When in doubt about the meaning of something you can ask the Virtual Trainer to explain the word/sentence in your native language. Alternatively, you may ask about an in-depth definition of words or topics. (e.g., Can you translate the word ‘authorization’ to Dutch and tell me in Dutch how it is used? / Can you define the term ‘authorization’ in more detail?). - Ask for metaphors and context
To understand the material better, you can ask the virtual trainer to explain something in an easier way using metaphors, or to put a certain chapter in the context by explaining it as a story. Perhaps even related to your own work/study situation. (e.g., Can you explain the usage of the RISK Management process to me using a story related to an information security employee?) - Confirm your understanding of x
The Virtual Trainer can be used as a teacher to examine your knowledge. You can try to explain a topic or term to it and ask whether you have understood it correctly. Alternatively, you can ask questions to test your knowledge about a chapter or topic. (e.g., The primary usage of cryptography is to protect information by providing confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity. It is a fundamental tool to enable secure communication, secure storage, and secure transactions between different parties. – Is this statement correct?). - Ask for help to prepare for your exam: summarize, overview
You may ask the Virtual Trainer to help you prepare for your exam. You can ask for summaries of important chapters or for overviews of certain standards or processes. (e.g., Can you provide me with a short summary of module 4? Include the most important information that i need to know for the exam).
Tips for optimal answers
The more specific your question, the more specific your answer. So don’t hesitate to ask follow-up questions and to have a proper conversation with the AI. Try to ask your questions in different ways if the answer is not to your liking.
- Be specific and ask follow-up questions
- Try to reformulate your question if you didn’t get an optimal answer
- Remember, the Virtual Trainer is a tool to aid you in your study, so treat it like an aiding tool
